Ammergau Alps

In the triangle between Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Neuschwanstein Castle, nature and culture are in an unique symbiosis.

With 300 square kilometers, the Ammergau Alps are Bavaria's largest connected nature reserve. The landscape is a harmony of unique natural events such as the Scheibum and breathtaking monuments such as the Basilica of Ettal Monastery.
Thanks to an extensive road network, you easily can reach the unspoiled nature as well as the sights, and you can take impressive trips to original places in any time.
A special recommendation is the Ammergau Alps Meditation trail. This hiking trail, from the Wieskirche (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to the Linderhof Castle, connects you with an intact nature, unique views and picturesque cultural assets, and ideally complements every cultural or pilgrimage journey.

Regardless of where the journey takes place, the authentic, Bavarian way of life, the care of tradition and customs are omnipresent - when visiting an event such as the Leonhardiritt or the visit of the impressive Passion Play Theatre.
Whether looking for cultural highlights, the absolute summit glory or the time out of everyday life - the diversity of the Ammergau Alps impresses.
