Description

Unterammergau's home mountain can almost always be climbed. The hut near the summit guarantees mountain relaxation. In technical climbing terms, the route via the Kuhalm is more interesting than taking the forest route to the "Pürschling House".
The tour begins at the hikers' car park at the Steckenberg in Unterammergau. From the car park, a leisurely stroll via the forest road alongside the Schleifmühlen stream takes you in the direction of Pürschling House/August Schuster House. Keep right at the first fork and proceed over the bridge, continuing to follow the forest road. Take a right turn off the road just before it descends to the left towards "Langes Thal". Continue through the mountain forest until you reach open country at the Kuhalm. Turn left in a southerly direction heading for the Teufelstättkopf. A steep corrie leading around many sharp bends will take you to the exposed ridge, via which you can ascend to the summit. If conditions are good and there is sufficient snow, it is possible to begin your descent directly into the "White Valley" from the ski station. Further down, you will once again meet the upward trail, via which you return to the starting point .
