Cross-country skiing is winter sport number one in the Ammergau Alps. Due to the snow safety of the trails you can do cross-country skiing here in the Ammergau Alps usually from December to mid / end of March.
The trails, all total about 160 km long, are well prepared for classic cross-country skiing technique and skating technique. Beginners and advanced skiers will find their perfect cross-country pleasure here.
All resorts in the Ammergau Alps are interconnected. A well-marked trail network will assign from the different routes and facilitate your cross country planning. So, depending on endurance, you can go on a longer tour from Bad Kohlgrub to Oberammergau or take a short stretch from Ettal to Oberammergau without any problems.
Of course in the region several circuits courses are offered, which you can use for cross country skiing. In the Ammergau Alps you will be spoiled for choice. The cross-country trails were even awarded by ADAC with 4 stars.
