King Ludwig Race

The "King Ludwig Race" (König-Ludwig-Lauf) is lovingly known by Ammergauer people by its nickname “Luggi”. Here you are skating in the tracks of the King. His beloved Graswangtal is venue of “his” race.

The Oberammergau call the "König Ludwig Lauf" with its lovely nickname: "Luggi" run. Here you can skate on the traces of King Ludwig II.  His beloved Graswangtal is the venue of "his" people cross country skiing.
The altitude makes Oberammergau and the entire Ammergau Alps to a paradise for cross-country skiers. The international elite cross-country skiers, the most great "King-Ludwig-country skiing" participates each year, confirm this.
The "King Ludwig Run" over 50 km and 23 km in both classical and free technique is held every year on the first weekend of February. It is a member of Worldloppet, the Euroloppets, the DSV-series cross-country skiing and ski Classics series.
