The Muddy Angel Run is Europe's largest obstacle course series for women – and anything but a classic competition. A variety of obstacles, mud pits, and tons of fun await participants on a roughly five-kilometer course. Instead of time and performance, team spirit, camaraderie, and the shared experience take center stage. Whether with friends, colleagues, or family: what counts here is togetherness – and a little bit of courage to get a little dirty.

Sometimes that's exactly what you need: a break from everyday life, a plunge into adventure – and ultimately a feeling of genuine relaxation and lightness. What might sound like opposites at first glance surprisingly works well as a partnership: the high-energy Muddy Angel Run and the relaxing nature of the Ammergau Alps Nature Park.

Here, movement, nature and regeneration come together – creating experiences that will be remembered for a long time.

Strong together – the Muddy Angel feeling

The Muddy Angel Run isn't about setting personal bests, but about team spirit, fun, and overcoming obstacles – quite literally. Laughter, mud, and a bit of pushing your limits are just as much a part of it as camaraderie and pride.

After a day full of action, mud, and adrenaline, the body is pleasantly exhausted. That's precisely when the second part of the experience begins in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park: a holiday focused on conscious relaxation and rejuvenation.

From mud to moor – relaxation with profound effects

What surprises many: mud can not only be fun, but also really good for you. In Bad Kohlgrub and Bad Bayersoien, a very special kind of "mud" has been used for centuries – the natural remedy of peat.

A peat bath acts like a natural reset for the body:
It envelops muscles and joints in a comforting warmth, promotes blood circulation, and supports regeneration. After a sporting event like the Muddy Angel Run, it's the perfect combination – first exert yourself, then recharge.

The difference? During the run, the mud provides adrenaline and laughter, while the 42-degree warm moorland offers relaxation and renewed energy. The combination of both creates a thoroughly beneficial experience.

Stay active – discover the Ammergau Alps

Hiking with a view

Over 500 kilometers of hiking trails lead through one of Bavaria's most pristine landscapes. Whether a leisurely stroll along the Ammer river or a climb to panoramic peaks – every step is rewarding.

A particular highlight: the meditation path between the Wieskirche and Linderhof Palace. Perfect for finding peace and quiet.

Cycling & Gravel biking

Gentle valleys, clear streams, and sweeping views make every bike tour a pleasure. Those who prefer a more athletic experience will discover diverse gravel routes around Lake Plansee or towards Murnau.

Culture meets nature

The region is not only scenically stunning – it also has a great deal to offer culturally. The famous Ettal Abbey, the fairytale Linderhof Palace, and the traditional town of Oberammergau with its Passion Play make a stay even more diverse.

Conclusion: Your perfect mix of power and rest

The Ammergau Alps Nature Park and the Muddy Angel Run complement each other better than you might think: You can exert yourself, push your limits – and then consciously regenerate during your next holiday in the nature park.

Or in other words:
First through the mud. Then into the bog. And in both cases: back home with a smile.
