The BR bike tour It is one of the best-known mass participation sporting events in Bavaria. Every year, hundreds of participants cycle for several days across the Free State – accompanied by concerts, live reporting and a colorful supporting program.

On August 4th, international star power will descend upon Oberammergau. The band Starship, fronted by Mickey Thomas, will rock the festival grounds. With global hits like "We Built This City," "Sara," and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," the band rose to fame in the 80s and received both Oscar and Grammy nominations. The Bayern 1 Band will kick things off on August 4.8th. After Starship's performance, a DJ will keep the party going.

Yes, there is a supporting program. According to current plans, the concert will take place at the festival grounds in Oberammergau.
Timetable:
From approximately 14:00 PM: Supporting program in the finish area at Max-Streibl-Platz - right in the center of Oberammergau
15:00 PM: small concert at Max-Streibl-Platz
From approximately 16:00 PM: Moderated by BR presenters Roman Roell and Willi Willmann
Around 16:30 p.m.: The cyclists arrive at the finish line in the center of Ogau. The finish will be broadcast live on the BR television program “Wir in Bayern”.
From approximately 17:00 PM: The evening event begins at the festival grounds in Oberammergau with a free concert by the Bayern 1 Band and the band “Starship” (known for hits such as “Nothing’s gonna stop us now”, “Sara” or “We built this city”)

Admission to the open-air concert on August 4th at the Oberammergau festival grounds is free. The band Starship featuring Mickey Thomas – known for hits like “We Built This City,” “Sara,” and “Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now” – will perform in Oberammergau. The Bayern 1 Band will also be there to get the crowd going. A DJ will provide the music for a party atmosphere to close out the evening. Don't miss the arrival of the cyclists in the town center. Be there when the approximately 1.000 cyclists stream into Oberammergau. A program of events will take place in the finish area starting around 15 p.m.

The BR cycling tour starts in Nördlingen and leads via Königsbrunn into the Ammergau Alps Nature Park – to Oberammergau. From there, the approximately 1.000 cyclists continue to Rosenheim and Dorfen. The final destination is Bad Füssing.
The Ammergau Alps are ideal for star-shaped tours with a touring bike, e-bike, or gravel bike, making them perfect for an extensive cycling holiday in the towns and villages surrounding the Passion Play town of Oberammergau. These tours offer the opportunity to explore not only the landscape but also a wealth of cultural attractions such as Ettal Abbey, Linderhof Palace, the Wieskirche (Pilgrimage Church of Wies), Murnau Castle Museum, and the Münter House. You can also combine your rides with a refreshing dip in the water, perhaps in Lake Soier, Lake Staffelsee, or Lake Plansee, depending on the distance, and perhaps with a stop at a local inn or restaurant.
