Unterammergau village and whetstone museum

The Village and Whetstone Museum In Unterammergau, the museum provides information about the town's history through words and pictures. Spread over three floors, it showcases interesting exhibits on whetstone making, agriculture and forestry, flax processing, local crafts, and sports. In addition, Wehrle's venerable general store and a guest room from the 1920s await curious visitors. 
The museum is open every Sunday from 15 pm to 17 pm until and including October 4, 2026, as well as during and after the open-air concerts on June 13.06, June 27.06, and August 01.08, starting at 20 pm. Admission is free. Donations to support the museum are welcome.
From Sunday, July 12th to Sunday, October 4th, the museum will present a special exhibition featuring six sculptors and painters from Unterammergau. Titled "Tradition Meets Modernity," the exhibition showcases traditional folk art, surprising new works, and some truly eccentric pieces.
