Guided tours of the historic Kammerl railway hydroelectric power plant
On every 2nd and 4th Sunday from May to October, the historic Kammerl railway hydroelectric power plant opens its doors to visitors.
Guided tours take place every hour on the hour between 11 a.m. and 15 p.m. (last tour at 15 p.m.). These approximately 45-minute tours offer insights into the original technology of the early 20th century and clearly explain how hydropower was used to generate electricity for electric train operation.
The power plant is an important testament to Bavarian electrification and railway history. Original turbines, generators, and historical equipment make the history of technology and energy directly tangible.
No registration is required. Group tours are available by arrangement.
