Living on the edge – moors, valuable cultural landscapes

Guided tour/visit
The bogs of the Ammer Valley are habitats under extreme conditions: constant wetness, oxygen deficiency, and nutrient scarcity create a location where only highly specialized survival artists can thrive. It is precisely these unique conditions that make bogs a refuge for rare animal and plant species.
During our excursion, we will gain fascinating insights into this extraordinary natural environment and learn why targeted management and appropriate use are crucial for preserving these valuable cultural landscapes. We will also focus on regionally important moorland areas such as the Murnau Moor and their role in nature conservation and landscape development.
The Bad Bayersoien Horticultural Society cordially invites its members and all other interested parties to a ranger excursion around Lake Soier.
