You will experience a walk through the Museum in the Bierlinghaus - a gem among Bavarian non-state museums - a journey into the past. The special of the Bayersoien artist Heinz Bachmayer "Wood in Frames" This season, it complements the museum's offerings.

The town itself was once characterized by its location on the former "Rottstraße", more precisely on the connecting road that enabled traffic from Schongau and the Lech to the Loisach Valley and the Brenner Pass.

A merchant family that lived in '"Soyen" between 1745 and 2011 probably owed its economic rise to that Rottstraße.

In the family's former department store Bierling The village museum is now located there, with a part of the museum dedicated to the memory of this merchant family.

Another focus is the so-called "Mößmer Collection" with predominantly religious depictions in the form of sculptures, saints and reverse glass paintings, which were collected at the time by a local cattle dealer.

You can also admire the extensive collection of paintings and reverse glass paintings by Adelheid Reichsiegel (1931-2018), the "painting farmer from Balteshof," who once lived and worked in the village.

In the attic, farming, craft and household equipment from earlier times are on display. A former coal mine in Ammerleite is also commemorated.

The museum is owned by the municipality.
