After a first sacred Stop at the Wieskirche - a small, magnificent rococo-style pilgrimage church - Linderhof Castle with its magnificent gardens is your destination.

In five daily stages you master the spiritual route through the green meadow landscape the Ammergau Alps - alone in silence or on a guided hike by a body therapist.

Five stage highlights on the Ammergau Alps meditation trail

Your first stage of the day takes you via Rottenbuch Monastery - a former Augustinian canons' monastery that presents impressive impressions with its pompous frescoes. On the second stage of the day you will pass the Kammerl power plant. Let your thoughts flow downstream with the current of the bunting. 

On the third day, the easy to moderately demanding route leads through the Ludwigsschlucht via the Kappl Trinity Church to the lush alpine meadows around the Stierkopf.

On day four, hike past the monumental crucifixion group in Oberammergau and experience monastic reflection in the Benedictine monastery of Ettal. The unique Scent of flowering meadows in the Weidmoos nature reserve shows you the way on the last stage to Linderhof Castle.

Meditation path Blue Land

Step by step to more calmness and mindfulness

The Meditation path Blue Land is At 105,6 kilometers, it is the longer counterpart to the Ammergau Alps meditation trail and unites with it in Ettal through the shared network of paths. It starts in Bad Kohlgrub. With one more daily stage than the Ammergau Alps meditation trail, the route leads via Murnau am Staffelsee and allows you to reflect on everyday life.

Landscape-cultural cross-section in six stages

On your way you will encounter the picturesque St. Rochus Chapel in Bad Kohlgrub with its historic plague cemetery from 1633/1634. Highlights of the stage are the Ramsachkircherl on the Murnauer Moos, the Lourdes Grotto and a final visit to the Münter House.  The next day starts with a boat trip on Lake Staffelsee past the island of Wörth. The route leads to the remote Schöffau. Follow the banks of the Riegsee and enjoy fabulous views from the lake Sacristan's house chapel Aidling up to the Zugspitze. You will achieve this on day four in front of a fantastic Alpine backdrop Fieberkircherl and the Hagrain Chapel - Places of heavenly worship. From Ohlstadt, the fifth day's stage leads to the impressively scenic Asamklamm.

After a flying visit to Eschenlohe your meditative long-distance hike ends in Ettal Monastery at the junction of the Ammergau Alps meditation path.
