Much more than a museum: The mSE Kunsthalle and its sculpture garden are part of a building complex that opened in autumn 2019, which also includes the Hieronymus restaurant and the Lartor boutique hotel. As a visitor, the perfect combination of art, cuisine and nature awaits you here.
In the mSE Kunsthalle, which already offers an extraordinary entrance in its foyer with sculptures by famous German sculptors such as Ernst Barlach and Wilhelm Lehmbruck, contemporary art in particular is presented in an approachable and accessible manner in changing exhibitions. Guested at the start “KAIROS. The Right Moment” with paintings by the former “master forger” Wolfgang Beltracchi and photographs by Mauro Fiorese in the exhibition hall, which is important far beyond the region. The exhibition had previously triggered a veritable rush of visitors in Venice, Hamburg and Vienna with over 40.000 visitors.
KAIROS wants to make the unseen from 2.000 years of European art visible. The project is named after Kairos, the Greek god of the right moment to make a decision. The exhibition asks which works in art history have missed their moment and takes a look at the unseen in art, at forgotten works and those that were never created.
The art gallery in the beautiful landscape of the Ammergau Alps Nature Park is surrounded by a sculpture garden with works by artists such as Lois Anvidalfarei, Beuys student Norbert Tadeusz, Giuseppe Spagnulo and the Munich artist Bruno Wank.
The mSE Kunsthalle and the entire complex are intended to become a significant attraction for events beyond the region.
