For a long time there was no Protestant community or church in Bad Kohlgrub. Only with the increase in spa guests did the demand for Protestant church services skyrocket. The tasteful and simple St. Paul's Church in the upper spa area was inaugurated in 1934.
Today the church is looked after by the pastors of the Evangelical Lutheran community in Murnau.
