A popular mountain tour in Ammergauer Alpe Nature Parkn. Highly recommended in late autumn because of the continuous south-facing exposure. This route runs less on roads than the north-side ascent variant from Unterammergau.

From Linderhof Palace (943m, there is a hiker parking lot: ask at the barrier) keep right above the castle grounds through the Linderwald. Cross a forest road twice and get increasingly steep Kälberalmgraben. Cross this and continue up until you reach the Pürschlinghaus-Brunnenkopfhütte mountain trail. Turn right here and follow the mountain path to the house that will soon be visible (1564m).
