You almost feel like the brave little tailor, because things aren't always the same three stately Alpine foothills peaks conquer on a hike.
Although Teufelstättkopf, Sonnenberg and Kofel are not among the highest mountains in the Ammergau Alps, they are still summit destinations that require mountaineering skills, endurance and a head for heights.

Directions
On foot or with the Kolben chairlift you float up to the Kolbensattelhütte and hike on wide and flat panoramic paths towards Pürschling.
It only gets steeper at the end of the climb. The Climb Teufelsstattkopf is then significantly more alpine than the previous route, but only the last 20 meters require sure-footedness. An alternative tour leads from here back on the beautiful but simple ridge to the Kühalm and on to Unterammergau.
The planned path goes from the Teufelstättkopf back to the August-Schuster-Haus/Pürschlinghaus. Here you can enjoy a snack on the terrace before the more strenuous part of the tour begins.
A little below, a narrow path branches off to the right from the ascent path and leads you through grassy slopes. A little later he switches to the steep southern flank of the Sonnenberg. In some places you have to watch carefully where you step. In dry weather and for experienced hikers, nothing is a problem - as long as it's not wet!
The path again changes the mountain side and continues on the shady north side. Small scrambling spots, narrow stretches of path and two Wire rope secured chimneys continue to create tension. You have to be careful at the foot of the Sonnenspitz so that you don't miss the climb through a damp gully to the summit.
The deep view of the roofs of Graswang is breathtaking. You can bypass the tooth on the left or take it with you on the right. Then the difficulties are over and serpentines lead you down to Kolbensattelhütte. The via ferrata still beckons tirelessly Kofel, Oberammergau's local mountain. If you already have tired legs, you can take the Alpine Coaster straight down to the starting point.
