Picture-book villages - cycle tour from Murnau through the foothills of the Alps

From the train station in Murnau we start towards the town center. From there we head east to Froschhausersee and further to Aidling. From Aidling the path takes us through Hofheim, Spatzenhausen and Eglfing. We continue on well-developed cycle paths to Uffing and far west to Schöffau. The route leads back to the starting point via Harberg, again via Uffing and Seehausen. 

Although the roads between the smaller villages are very quiet, you should always be mindful of possible overtaking cars.

In summer, be sure to pack your swimming gear and refresh yourself with a jump into one of the swimming lakes.

Motorway A95 Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the Murnau/Kochel exit. After the exit, keep towards Murnau and follow the country road to Murnau am Staffelsee. 

Paid parking spaces are available, for example, at the festival site in Murnau, on the shore of Lake Staffelsee or directly at Froschhausersee.

There are hourly connections to Murnau from Munich main station.
