Directions
You leave Oberammergau in a southerly direction and first cycle along the Ammer on the cycle path to Ettal.
At the end of Ettal, after approx. 800 m, you will reach the “Ettaler Saddle”. From here it goes downhill, after a long left-hand bend you leave the federal highway B 23 to the right in the next right-hand bend below the "Ettaler Sattel" (inexperienced cyclists stay on the federal highway B 23 to Oberau).
Only experienced bikers Drive downhill on the partly very steep and gravelly path (dangerous descent) to Oberau and continue towards the train station, crossing the busy federal highway B 2.
Pass the train station and continue over the railway tracks and Loisach Bridge to the golf course and along the edge of the forest to Eschenlohe. In the center of Eschenlohe, in front of the "Alter Wirt" inn at the "War Memorial", keep left towards the cemetery.
After crossing under the B2 federal road and the motorway, turn right to the connecting road Grafenaschau. This quiet street, closed to public traffic, takes you through the southern part of the city in a varied way "Murnauer Moos" to Grafenaschau. In the center of town, turn left and drive past the cemetery, climbing on the good forest path to Bad Kohlgrub.
In Bad Kohlgrub you cycle uphill through the town Direction Saulgrub. Before the end of the town you have to turn left and continue through the Kraggenau district until the first houses of Saulgrub are in sight.
Approximately 100 m before a market garden, turn left onto a gravel road, after approximately 600 m you will come to an asphalt road again, which passes the on the left “Aura Hotel” in Wurmansau leads. In Wurmansau, in front of the small chapel on the left, keep right, under the federal road B 23 to the connecting road.
On this side road turn left to Unterammergau and return to the cycle path oberammergau.
