Directions

The varied mountain bike tour first takes you Unternogg and past the managed forester's lodge.

Am Parking lot for hikers turn left (not right over the bridge!) and drive along the gently flowing Halbammer into the valley. At the next junction, continue left towards “Hubertus Chapel” and at the next fork turn right towards “Brunnenkopf”. The forest path now climbs steeply in places and, after a flat passage, past the “Mardersteighütte” on the right on the edge of the path.

About 300 m after the hut you have to turn right onto the narrow one Footpath towards Trauchgau branch off, cross the narrow footbridge and, after another 30 m, turn right towards Trauchgau. After an initial steep descent, you descend relatively flatly “Geometer and watershed hut” past the half sheet metal along and reach an asphalt road, follow this to the town of Halblech.

At the sawmill in Halblech, cycle right over the bridge and after 250 m turn right again towards Trauchgau. In Trauchgau turn right onto Austraße towards “Trauchgauer Almstube”. After one Gravel plant turn left, following the signs “Oberreithen-Schober”, until just before Oberreithen.

Then turn right on the asphalt road towards “Wieskirche”. At a triangle (a detour to the left to the famous Wieskirche would be possible, approx. 6 km there and back) you leave the asphalt road and from here take the gravel road “Königstrasse” via Unternogg back to Altenau.
