From the hiking car park at Linderhof Palace, the signposted trail leads uphill through the forest, initially accompanied by a lovely stream. The steadily ascending, wide gravel and pebble path makes the climb easy. Emerging from the forest, the trail runs alongside the Brunnenkopf alpine pasture, offering fantastic views. From here, the Brunnenkopfhütte (Brunnenkopf Hut) is already visible and can be reached in just a few minutes. Numerous tables, chairs, and benches provide ample space for visitors to stop, relax, and enjoy food and drink while taking in the views of the Graswang Valley, Ettal, the Kreuzspitze and Friederspitze peaks, and the Wetterstein Mountains. Those wishing to continue can reach the summit of the Brunnenkopf from here in about 15 minutes.

Address for your GPS : Linderhof 10; 82488 Ettal
A95 Munich – Garmisch to the end of the motorway and on to Oberau. Turn right to Oberammergau, through Ettal and before Oberammergau turn left towards Linderhof Castle. Park there in a large parking lot. The tour begins at the western end of the parking lot.
