Directions

This eventful tour takes you from the town center via the Kraggenau district to Saulgrub. There you come to the federal highway B 23, turn right for 50 m, then turn left into “Altenauer Straße” and continue cycling to Altenau. At the extinguishing pond in Altenau, turn right, drive past the “Forsthaus Unternogg” and over the Halbammer bridge. Follow the asphalt road, which leads steadily up and down past the hamlets of Peustelsau and Hargenwies to Morgenbach and Schwaigsee.

Here you cross the main road. After a short climb you will reach a triangle of paths (on the right approx. 300 m). Schönegger Käsealm).

Take the gravel path to the left and drive alternately through forest and meadow until you come to an old, lonely farm. Past this farmstead, keep half right for about 500 m and you will soon come to a tarred road and continue straight on.

You cross the following side street, after about 300 m downwards the “Pest Cemetery” is in front of you on the right. The further path towards Rottenbuch takes you to “Romantic Road”. Continue along the cycle path to Rottenbuch.

It's worth visiting one of the important monasteries in the Pfaffenwinkel with its magnificent rococo church. From Rottenbuch you use the cycle path along the “Romantic Road” to the place worth seeing “Echelsbach Bridge”.

Immediately after “Echelsbacher Bridge” You must keep right on the signposted cycle path and continue through the underpass towards Bad Bayersoien. You cycle along a quiet but scenic agricultural path with a view of the striking Teufelstättkopf and Laubeneck through Gschwendt to Bad Bayersoien. When you arrive in Bad Bayersoien, take advantage of the opportunity to cool off in the Soier See or take a break Fischerhäusl to insert. The last part leads through the finest gravel paths Mountain pine and raised moor landscape back to the starting point in Bad Kohlgrub.
