On the eastern edge of Lake Soier, the moorland nature trail leads to three information stations . There, information panels clearly explain the origin and importance of the moor for the region.
Bad Bayersoien boasts its raised bogs - the peat from which is extracted in limited quantities not only serves the spa industry , but the areas are also a tourist attraction , as this protected raised bog is very rare and only occurs in a few places.
The trail is intended to offer visitors more than just light entertainment: Biologist Dr. Helmut Hermann wants to draw attention to the destruction of large areas of peatland and calls for greater sustainability for nature in general, and especially for the invaluable raised bogs. Hermann, who provided the texts for the signs, speaks enthusiastically about the ' ecosystem as a service provider '.

Directions
Coming from the parking lot in front of the Parkhotel at Soier See , follow Kirmesauer Straße out of the village . Take the first right into Hofweg.
After 200 meters, turn right again. Here begins the moorland nature trail , which leads you straight ahead to the lake shore . Follow the path to the right, counter-clockwise around the lake. After another 150 meters, the path leads back to the parking lot on the right.

Our tip
From the hiking car park (north of the lake shore) walk towards the lake. There you can “feel” the moor in a glass box. Then climb into the mud treading pool right by the lake.
