The themed trails begin with Myth path, which talks about magic bushes, wind chimes, mythical stone circles and Myths and legends the region informed.
This is what follows Timberland Trail, a Forest worldthat you can not only see, smell and hear but also feel. There are elements especially for the visually impaired that enable them to experience the forest through the sense of touch.

On the further way you get to the small but informative Köhlerweg in Bad Kohlgrub, insight into the world of charcoal burners. (The charcoal burners are also the namesake of the health resort)
Display boards and a Model charcoal kiln inform the visitor about this almost forgotten Craft of charcoal making. The boards provide information, for example, about tree weights (test station), particularly suitable tree species for coal production, the pitch pile and much more

Directions
They go through the Kurpark at the treading pool over. After about 10 m, cross a small bridge on the left and follow the signs “Mythenweg”, which then leads you directly onto the Timberland Trail (adventure trail). Go right uphill to the road, continue right and take the next turn left, past the “Guggenbergalm” (refreshments available).
Follow the hiking trail uphill for about 100 m and keep left Direction Schönau. Go that Moat Gorge down the valley to the road, there take the next option on the right and the next path on the left.
Now you're on that Köhlerweg with lots of information and answers to questions such as: B. what a “Hille Bille” is, what can be made from the “bird cherry”, what grows and runs in a “wild hedge” or how much a ster of wood is. A “model charcoal kiln” is also set up here.
At the end of the path, turn left onto the road which leads you via Prentstrasse to the starting point.

Our tip
Every year in May, the “Die Köhlerfreunde” build a charcoal pile on Köhlerweg. This will be ceremoniously lit after construction. You can find out the schedule until the coal is sold on their homepage www.koehlerfreunde-badkohlgrub.de
