Directions

You start in the inner courtyard of Ettal Abbey and, after passing through the west gate, turn immediately left and cross the road. A narrow path leads you across a meadow towards the forest. There, turn right and follow the edge of the forest to the Ettal Mill. After the mill, walk along the Ammer River until you reach the road. Turn right and continue for a while on a paved path. After the climbing rock, turn left. Passing the shooting range, you'll reach the Grotto Path and the Crucifixion Group. The path now descends in switchbacks until you reach a paved road. After about 50 meters, turn left. At the bottom, you'll reach the Ammer River. Turn right and walk along the Ammer. Cross the bypass bridge to the other side of the river. Continue walking along the Ammer for a while until you see a tunnel on your left. Turn into the tunnel. From the Oberammergau festival grounds, turn left back towards the stadium and the finish line.
