Directions

From the Hörnle-Bahn valley station (most direct and shortest route to the Hörnle and the Zeitberg), follow the signs to the Vorderer Hörnle or the Hörnlehütte. The path always takes you near the chair lift, initially along meadows, later a bit through the forest and at the end across the field at the Stockhang lift, which is used as a ski slope in winter. The circular route begins behind the mountain station of the cable car at the summit cross of the Zeitberg.

Alternatively, you can also take the Hörnlebahn to the top in a relaxed manner.

From the Hörnle-Bahn mountain station

The circular route begins directly at the mountain station. First go to the right to the summit of the Zeitberg and enjoy a unique panorama from the Zugspitze to the lakes in the foothills of the Alps. From here you walk downhill again past the Hörnlehütte towards Vorderes Hörnle. Here you can see the first station “Ur-Zeit”. You can either take the path over the summit of the Vorderen Hörnle or stay on the forest path to the Middle Hörnle. Both paths lead you to the second station “Brut-Zeit”. Either you hike from here directly up to the Mittleres Hörnle (narrow path, climb 5-10 minutes) or continue on the forest road towards Hörnlealm and Hinteres Hörnle. Both ways take you to the third station, “Brot-Zeit”. From here you follow the path to the Hinterer Hörnle and reach the last station “Generations-Zeit”. From here you can either climb up to the Hinterer Hörnle or hike around it on the circular path.

You hike back on the same familiar path.
