Beautiful winter hiking trail through Weidmoos and through Graswangtal to Linderhof Castle.

Follow the hiking signs Snowflake number 1

The tour starts from the parking lot at the Ettaler Mühle in Ettal.

The Graswangtal is one of the most snow-sure cross-country ski areas in the Bavarian Alps. From December to March the sun hardly shows up. The bunting's bed is dry during the winter because the Source streams collect in the Ettaler Mühlbach. Its water powered a sawmill at the Ettal monastery for almost 300 years.

Below the south-facing steep slope of the Sonnenberg, which only stays white for a few days even in snowy winters, you go past the cream farmers towards Graswang. The snow on the opposite slopes, however, remains until spring.

From Graswang the hike leads over the Kohlbachweg in the wintry fairytale forest until Castle of King Ludwig II. From here you can take the bus back to Oberammergau.
