Directions

You start in Oberammergau on the Ammer and follow it upstream towards Ettal. At the intersection before Ettal, turn right to Ettaler Mühle and cross the valley through Weidmoos. Small, crystal-clear streams run here, which soon join together to form the Ammer. On the other side of the Ammer you hike back to Oberammergau. Alternatively, after the Ettaler Mühle you can cross the federal road towards Oberammergau and hike on this side on the Vogelherdweg back to Oberammergau. This path is not cleared, but is usually easy to walk on as a trail.
