Tackling things together and cleaning up nature was the basic idea of the first Valley Green Up in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park, in which around 200 hiking enthusiasts took part. The three partners Ammergau Alps Nature Park Ziener company and the King Ludwig Lauf eV jointly launched the day of action in 2021.
The fourth Clean-Up Day of Action is now scheduled for 2024. This time on 28 September. Volunteer garbage collectors will once again be out and about on around 30 different tours, combining hiking and nature conservation on this day.
Valley Green Up process:
7 a.m. - 12 p.m. Pick up starter packages at the Tourist Information Oberammergau or the Tourist Information Bad Kohlgrub
Independent hiking tour in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park (note tour selection!)
14 p.m. - 18 p.m. Meet&Greet with the organizers and nature park rangers at the Ammergauer Haus in Oberammergau (food and drinks included)
All participants receive a free collection set consisting of bamboo tongs and cornstarch bags. There is also a box with useful companions for the tour.
Anyone who registers online can choose their favorite route straight away. Depending on your personal taste, there is something for every fitness level and age, from flat to alpine tours.
