How much do the ranger and expert tours cost?

The ranger and expert tours are free of charge. When booking, the amount is always "0 €" - it remains that way throughout the entire booking process. No account details need to be provided (a value for the costs must be stored in the booking system, hence the “0 €”).

What are the tasks of a ranger in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park?

Rangers are mediators between people and nature and have many different tasks:
Visitor guidance in the area and digital environmental education, landscape management, monitoring, public relations

What is the difference between ranger tours and expert tours?

Many tours are conducted by the nature park rangers; they are real all-rounders and can answer all questions about the nature park. The offer is supplemented by guided tours by experts who have and impart in-depth knowledge in a specific area: the orchid expert knows exactly which orchid grows where, the foresters are much more than "tree experts" and the herbal educators spice up their tours with exciting anecdotes . 

Where do the tours with the ranger start?

The meeting points vary and are listed in the descriptions of the respective tours.

Are dogs allowed on the tours?

Dogs are always welcome if they are on a leash. There are even two special tours that are designed to meet the needs of dogs and their owners: "Ranger-Gassi" in Oberammergau and Bad Kohlgrub with ranger Deniz.

Which tours are suitable for families?

Families can of course take part in any tour, but these tours are particularly suitable for families:

Is it possible to take part in the ranger tour with a stroller?

Many of the tours run on small paths and are therefore not suitable for strollers, but the following tours run on gravel forest roads and can be done with an off-road stroller:

Are there barrier-free tours?

The “FKK - Tour through Ettaler Weidmoos” tour is wheelchair accessible to a limited extent. The paths are gravel and flat except for a small bridge - an accompanying person is helpful. It's best to let the tourist information office in Oberammergau know that a wheelchair user will be there: 08822/922740
