“Quality nature park”

In June 2021, the Ammergau Alps Nature Park took part in the “Nature Park Quality Offensive” and answered more than 100 questions about its work in the areas of “management and organization” as well as in the four fields of action “nature conservation and landscape management”, “recreation and sustainable tourism”, “Education for sustainable development and environmental education” and “Sustainable regional development”. A so-called “quality scout” then traveled to the nature park and evaluated the information. Due to the number of points achieved (which must be between 300 out of 500 for the “Quality Nature Park” award), the Ammergau Alps Nature Park is entitled to bear the title “Quality Nature Park”.

The “Natural Parks Quality Offensive” supports the nature parks in their areas of action: protection, recreation, education, development and management. The aim is to constantly improve the quality of the nature parks' work and offerings, as well as to provide better support for their work in society, business and politics.
