Churches/chapels
Bayersoien's parish church was sparingly stuccoed by Wessobrunn artists in 1767.

The history of the church begins in 1295 with the first mention by the Rottenbuch monastery, with the acquisition of two farms in what was then Soien. In 1315 Bayersoien was mentioned as a branch church with its own burial place.

The church, which is dedicated to St. George, was built in the 15th or 16th century as a late Gothic building and was renovated and re-equipped in Baroque style in the 18th century. Well-known local artists were recruited to design the interior.

The stucco work was made in the style of Joseph Schmuzer. Franz Seraph Zwinck designed the frescoes in the main vault, which symbolize faith, love and hope.

The probably baroque altarpiece with the depiction of St. George still comes from the old furnishings and is flanked by statues of St. Barbara and St. Catherine. Next to the high altar are two classicist confessionals (around 1780). The baptismal font dates from the same period and the “Baptism of Christ” can be seen on the top.
