Junior Ranger on a discovery tour

Holiday program for locals and guest children

For the third time, the Ammergau Alps, in collaboration with the Naturpark eV, are offering a children's holiday program for the entire nature park region during the summer holidays.

For four weeks in August, the children can playfully explore the nature park from Monday to Friday. Holidaymakers and local children (children aged 6 – 12) are allowed to take part.
It is possible to book a whole week or individual days.

The children are divided into two groups:
6 - 9 years and 10 - 12 years

If you stay five nights or more in one of our accommodations, the program is free for your child(ren)!

You can book the children's program when you have selected your accommodation. Simply click on “Show experiences” under experiences/tickets for your stay and select the Junior Ranger on Discovery Tour program and book it free of charge by checking the “Add now” box. Please indicate in the form on which days you would like to register your child(ren).

  • Monday: At the beginning of the week we will take a closer look at the moor habitat, feel the “baaz” and, with a bit of luck, see carnivorous plants. Of course there is enough time for playing and running around.

  • Tuesday: What shouldn't be missing from any summer vacation program? Cooling off by the water! We can hang our feet in the water at a small stream, marvel at the flora and fauna and take a closer look at it.

  • Wednesday: The forest is an ideal adventure playground for explorers big and small. No matter whether we balance on tree trunks, collect forest treasures or listen to the sounds of the forest inhabitants - we certainly won't get bored in the forest!

  • Thursday: Today we become little detectives who venture into the world of the meadow. If you look closely, it is crawling, flying and blooming everywhere! The cows also love the meadow.

  • Friday: After the small animals in the meadow, at the end of the week we deal with the larger local wild animals. Who can distinguish the sounds of deer, deer and fox? Who recognizes them by their tracks? And where are the shy animals actually hiding?

Meeting points for the respective weeks are in the nature park schools:

                29.07 – 02.08 Bad Bayersoien

                05.08 – 09.08 Unterammergau

12.08 - 16.08 Bad Kohlgrub (15.08 is a public holiday, there is no program on this day)

                19.08 – 23.08 Oberammergau
