The Ammer springs are located in the Ettaler Weidmoos nature reserve between Oberammergau and Ettal.
Here mainly water from the Linder seepage further west in the Graswangtal comes back to the surface in several springs. These spring pots can be recognized by the rising air bubbles. After several meters, two small streams emerge, which soon merge to form the “Little Ammer” and wind in numerous loops through the soft moorland of the Ettal Basin. It then flows further north in the wide stream bed of the “Große Ammer”.
