Graswang's church dates from the 1950s. Until then, the people of Graswang went to church services in the Ettal monastery or in the Gertrudis chapel in the desert of Dickelschwaig.
Graswang's agricultural character can still be clearly seen today in the church's furnishings: the figure of the Mother of God that dominates the church interior is flanked by people from farm life (a woodcutter, a farmer with a cow, a hunter, a priest, children on horses )
