Churches/chapels
The warrior memorial chapel stands on one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Bad Bayersoien.
The memorial chapel, on the highest point in Bad Bayersoien, was built in 1925 in memory of the community's 120 fallen soldiers from the First World War.

Architect Eberle from Ottobeuren made the design based on a church that already stood in Arras. Local craftsmen and artists built the structure. The ceiling paintings were made by the Haugg brothers, also from Ottobeuren. They show the hardship, misery and desperation of the soldiers and those left behind during the war years. Many dramatic scenes are captured here.

Other images symbolize the hopeless situation of the population after the war. The stained glass windows show the farewell and return home of a soldier.

The chapel's bell is still rung today when a veteran is buried. The Warriors and Veterans Association has taken over the care of the chapel.

By the way, from the chapel you have a fantastic view of Lake Soier, the Hörnle and the surrounding landscape.
